Wow, this thread is still going strong.

And I still think D3 has a chance to be p2p, simply because Blizzard is a company, and companies exist to make money. The QQers fail to realize that Blizzard will get much more money from P2P even if a portion of the community drops out due to the cost.

How much money they have is irrelevant. How much profit they make is irrelevant. How many people they can hire is irrelevant.

Life in business is about making profit, and nothing more. Gaming companies don't make you happy to make your play experience better; they make you happy so you will keep paying for their game. They don't care about you, as much as they try to seem like they do. They care about your money. And if an opportunity arises for them to make more money, they will logically take that step.

I don't think that it will be P2P myself personally, since the game won't be large/open enough to support that kind of playstyle. But, if it IS P2P, people need to get over themselves and realize that it's not the end of the world.
