It's all about sustainability.
Damage + ehp + health + LS

Single LS for me in most battles.
Super nasty combo affixes will require dual LS weapons.

Don't forget ... 1 x Bell will fill up full health / knock monsters back and let you run away if you are in a jam.

Hey hey, I reached lvl 100 paragon with my barb a few weeks ago so I sold all his gear and geared my monk. Right now I'm at a standstill regarding what to upgrade.
I'm not worried about skills, I use different spec's from this topic -> http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=67225721&f=142 made by the one and only jinshin85. So I'm only focusing on items right now.

So what would you suggest?

Yea, just getting 1 char 100 at a time But I might stick with monk, its a lot more fun than barb

Yeah, monks are more fun. I've only just switched from barb to monk, too.

i recently sold some stuff and have 500 mil to blow. i am basically looking at swords with 1100 isch dps, life steal and socket. but should i also look for as,crit damage, or dex?

If I were you I'd search for a WKL with 23+ lightning dmg 850+ dmg, socket + lifesteal

Edit: checked your profile.. You should get nats ring + boots, try crafting some amus before buying new weps..
