I want to revive my monk. What stats should I be looking for in gear? As well as skills to use

Has been discussed over and over in other places as well as this very thread, I have even personally answered your questions at least once. Please do some research for yourself before posting.

Gentlemen, I just want to say this thread is terrific, I have nothing to add because all my gear is Kadala hand outs that let me do t1 runs, but I'll hopefully have more to share once this fire monk starts coming together...

I just started attempting to stack lightning damage again

I have 28% from helm and 12% from bracers. I have a 18% WKL but it's a shit damage roll.

Currently rocking fists of thunder, sweeping wind, and lashing tail kick all lightning.

Currently I have +66 light dmg +78 with my light belt.
I tried using FoT ... It's not the same after nerfed.
My FoT dmg is similar to my WotHF dmg (weird)
WotHF-Fof is feels better for me.
I have +29% to WotHF.
Sheet dps 1m ... D-progress says edps is almost 1.4m
Still mixing & matching skills / gears.
Trying to increase toughness... 8m currently

Just wondering, what are you guys running for a lightning build ? I can't find a good synergy for focus attacks (pardon the SF4 moniker)

I use the time taken to kill a goblin to determine if a build is viable or not (for any given Torment)
At present, I'm spamming LTK with the GnK+Cindercoat setup, kills goblins easily with the reduced resource cost and additional fireball dmg.

Then....a thundergod belt drops and now i am itching to trying a lightning build, basically a variation of the old cookie-cutter build with DR-SB w/SWcyclones. focus dmg using bells or LTK-lightning rune. It feels so slow now, and the ltk-lightning rune's AOE is rather sad...and hence i swapped back to my old fire build for efficient farming. Is the TF or SoH really necessary for such builds?

I just lowered my LTK cost to 20, it is very noticable. The spam has intensified greatly.
I find that fire is much better for farming, while lightning is much more party-friendly in HC.
TF is merely the best overall weapon in the game and SoH is the best weapon in the game for melee lightning or ice builds, neither are required. In fact, I use TF for my fire build because it's just that good.

I don't have TF or SoH ... but gotta say the Sledge and WKL is a pretty nice combo for light build.
Love the stun ... specially the goblins.

I'm still not sure.

Ill test out more when I'm home.

Ingame I'm 1.4 million sheet dps
Dprogress says 1.35 million edps for me

I have one item with %skill damage I also forgot to consider for the primary skill choice.
