if it was a complete roll back, it could be done without doing the BOA. BOA is turned on, BOA is turned off.
Also blizzard can make all items BOA tomorrow if they choose and we all wouldn't be able to do anything about it even if purchased with real money. The pixels are blizzards property and we are basically renting them

we could all stop playing...which would only hurt their already diminishing player base

and we all kno how much blizz loves their money....i mean player base

So, since this thread is a bit tl;dr and all, what's happening to the people that put up crap for 2 bil and sold it? Are they keeping their money as if nothing?

In all seriousness, there is a lot of cases where they just can't take the gold.

Let's throw up a for-instance.

Player 1 has 2b gold and dupes it to 500b
Player 2 has no gold and trades with player 1 to get 200b
Player 2 now spreads this gold to 10 different people 20b each

Now what?

Now multiply this by 1000x and thats the tree you get.

It's impossible to back track some of it, but the 1 trillion + transactions aren't hard.

there are simpler ways to launder the gold, well simple ways that cant be tracked via a gold log. Yes the original account may be compromised however the secondary and subsequent accounts would be untraceable. for the logical gold dupers i imagine much of the duped gold originated from a dummy account and that will be the only account that got banned or boa. No loss really.
