So far I tried different variations of melee wizzard and all of them suck. I want to address optimists in this thread who suggest that we should "adapt". So how is getting to 2,2+ aps, 20+apoc, 45+crit and high res and armor and the same time is "adapting"? It's fucking not. If you got 300-400 millions laying around, than ofc, because decent chantodo's wands are so hyped that only mega rich players can afford them, getting attack speed on jewelry is affordable (althought with int/cc and some resists is still expensive), but lacunis with crit or witching hour with res is like 100 mill a piece (same goes to tal armor with all res), so how the fuck do I adapt if I have 40 millions?
I tried mp4 with mistral breeze - big packs of white mobs still die fast, but a pack of reflect moloks in fields of slaughter demolished me, I just couldn't lock any of them and their damage is pretty insane as it is, even with my 19% block and 20% dodge and fucking huge shield I am still getting destroyed.
The only good thing about this patch is spectral blades healing blades, works very good, I got 60k dps and I heal for 600-1200 per hit. Wizzards with 100k dps and high aps gonna love this.
Gonna try to experiment with shock pulse, let's see what happens.
WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT CHANTODO LACUNI OR WITCHING HOUR GENIUS?!?? Q_Q
any bracers can get crit, not only lacuni
theres rare orbs too, not only chantodo you know!
get ias on rings gloves amu

Ok, guys, after some experimenting I found out that Shock Pulse - Lighting affinity does wonders. Somehow battle.net doesn't want to show my profile, no idea why. (http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Mad1Lee-2243/hero/195500)
So I constantly spam 5 buttons: lmb - lighting affinity, rmb - frost nova (had to switch to cold snap), 1- diamond skin (first rune ofc), 2 - explosive blast (switched to chain reaction - more effective unless you got godly aps and cc to spam short fuse), 3 - wicked wind. I switched from storm armor - shocking aspect to prismatic armor, because at mp4 mobs hit super hard, so unless you got godly resists (like ~1k all without prismatic) I suggest leaving shocking armor for some better times.
I've got 1.91 aps, just 15 apoc, no LoH. LoH would be pretty useful I guess, but so far I am doing without it. Key to this build is to spam shock pulse as soon as you see your ap going down, it got amazing proc coeff. (.67) and it restores 3 ap per enemy hit (and it does damage and it's free). It helps to spawn more wicked winds, so as soon as you got 4+ wicked winds rolling you can lock any pack. Been testing for 30 minutes - act 3 mp4, yet to face fast molten occultists.
If anyone tries it, I would appreciate feedback. So far it works.
look another player without godly gear who doesnt qq and bothers trying out different stuff
(I suggest you do get some LOH, tad more ias if you can, the LOH would help you use shocking aspect or power of the storm (less ap expenditure) / survive better in general, and also try prodigy if you can, it stacks with affinity for more ap returns)
