Ah so I guess it's worth it to get +globes mod on maybe shoulders or belt in order to maximize beacon of ytar

Yes. Those are certainly good slots for that mod.

Dont just substitute the ehp stats to get it though. Must wait for the armor that has balanced stats wth +5k bonus. Hard to find. Once you have +20k, its good enough.

And great versus all classes, not just barbs.

Yes, this, it's a great "extra" stat, not something you should really gear for, though. Just if you have extra affixes to spend somewhere, it's nice to pick up.

Hey guys,

Currently I'm trying to reach the 170-180K DPS mark with 80K+ life for PvP.

This is where I'm at: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Vaux-1193/hero/6303685

Any advice on what to change to get there?

I'm going to pvp a lot of good guys tonight for D3CL.

I'm not that worried about monks and barbs, but super worried about DHs.

What's your strategy against these godly DHs?

These are the guys who I have to pvp against.

http://www.diabloprogress.com/hero/iria-1342/Iria/853202

I'm generally not good against DHs. Not looking forward to the fight. lol

This is what I usually run against them. with around 500all res/120k dps/6500 armor/80k life. It's hard.

What mitigates the Impale chemical the most? elite dr? phy resist? stack life? armor? block %?

get your hp regen up. id be much more worried about number 2 on the list than number 1. when he pops out you will one shot him, the second not so much.

your res is very low, anyway you can squeeze a couple hundred more in?

Edit:

cheese the balls off of blind spots in SW side.

Yeah I can get about 200 more res.

And I have like 1500 lps on the set up, its not that beneficial imo atm. BUT I guess if I can up my overall ehp, itll be great.

Yes I love SW area for juking. Its almost a must spot to fight against dhs. Its sad. Lol

It's really hard to get enough mitigation to do anything against a good impale DH. They will have at least 300k dps, with a 1300+ 2 hander with 400%+ CHD, which is easily a one shot unless you have 2.5m+ ehp. Your best bet really is strategy and positioning...it's not easy. SS is OP. Monk needs to be way more skilled than DH to win, I really believe. Imagine if we could TR every .5 seconds, for 1 second minimum, while invisible, and cast a long range palm. That's what it's like playing a DH, so that's what you have to counter. So you need to predict where they will pop out and be ready.

What this means, is you need to force them to end up where you want them to be when they pop out. Position yourself so they have the fewest LoS options to you, and make sure they get there at the right time. Then, you can TeleSSS or blind+EP/bell them.

You've only got a few chances since impale is almost always a 1 shot, so you have to either dodge, block, Serenity, or SSS it.

I find LPS doesn't help all that much against DH, since you're not really taking a little dmg here, a little dmg there. They are looking for the impale crit to one shot you. If you had almost 6k lps/200k health, like a good barb, then it might be a different story. But barb gets that from passives, not gear, stacking vit which scales with LPS passive, so monks can't get that kind of regen.

Your only other option, is to go with BT set stuff, at least 90%+ life from gear, and elite DMG reduce from stormshield/rings/sets, etc. If you can maintain 80k dps+ with this setup, and 150+k life, you may have a shot at surviving an impale crit and whittling down a good DH with 90k+ health, with 2 or so palm crits.

For sure.

I just need to hop that gear hurdle to really be able to compete. I'm good with strategy and timing but I am way outgeared by all the good pvpers, haha. I have the least trouble with DH because the good ones can be countered with timing and skill. Those 220k/6khps/90kdps S&B barbs, though, I can't really kill without getting really lucky or something. Super hard

Use reflect serenity. Class cannon dhs one shot themselves on it with impale, tanky ones might not, but will definitely hurt themselves. That 50% reflected is only mitigated by the dhs own mitigation, but not yours(unlike most other reflect afaik).
