Its still fun because there is always higher to push unlike d2 baal games 24/7 or pvp with whiny 10 year olds aka rands and d2 pvp section.
The 'higher to push' thing is terrible end game design.
"Oh you cleared GR 85? Sweet... Now do 86 I guess.... then maybe, 87? Someday, perhaps, 88!".

Well DAMN, I didn't expect this big of a response haha. To the trolls and people saying it's shit, I do respect your opinion. I don't agree with it, but that's all good.
I definitely miss the trading channels like we had in D2. I miss trading games. Shit, I miss trading items, because you really can't. Unless someone is in the game. I miss dueling, and I miss that epic feeling I had when I was 11 playing Diablo.
But I've grown. I'm either blinded by shiny objects, or I'm at that age where I enjoy things as they are.
I still play Nox, Arcanum, Sacred Gold, and a lot of classics. O find great joy in Castle Crashers, Slain!, The Binding of Isaac, and any Zelda title. I miss the old games. Definitely. But I stopped dwelling on them.
You said it yourself, you're a casual player. There is nothing wrong with that, but it is the reason Diablo 3 feels so good to you.
In Vanilla (which you said you didn't like in your OP), the game was only rewarding for those who put in the time. There was no instant gratification like there is now. NOW, you start a new season, play 5-10 hours a week and you're "holy fucking shit" tier geared in a month and feel super powerful. The game as it stands is about delivering quick happiness for casual players. Those casual players never really reach the TRUE end game which is running the same GR 102 over and over and over and over leveling gems to augment onto your gear slots.
Rare drops are useless.
99% of legenadaries are useless.
And of the 1% that have value, you only have a 10% of them rolling Ancient and being useful.
