He's after fast farming you won't need the extra damage from stand off but the extra movement speed he'll get will help that pound of flesh gives all the equipment non-ancient would be more than enough for t10 and non high end grifts

Alternatively he could change one of his gems for wreath of lightning or boon of the hoarder or even both as well.

This is very very fast but it requires minions. If you don't have lots of minions u'll start losing charges and eventually charge will go on cooldown
