Well for me path of exile standard league is casual. Been playing path of exile and thought I'd give diablo 3 another shot, but I guess ill stick with path of exile if that is the case that in 2 weeks I'll plateau.

I've played Diablo 3 at its release, however quit at the same year of 2012 due to it collapsing on itself. Haven't got to play the Reaper of Souls expansion.

3.5 years later

Is it worth picking up now? As a Casual player with a job and other activities and a bit of extra time to play games, what is your opinion? Should I give it another go? How is Diablo 3 now in comparison to Diablo 3 three years ago?

Looking for actual information and actual opinions on the state of the game and whether it's worth it or not.

I am aware there will be troll posts as always on the internet, but for the serious people out there - don't be deterred by them, since I really need your help and information.

I'd say no, unless you're into solo play mindless rice farming

there is no pvp
no trading
no campain mode, more efficient to play stupid rifts and grs , which are randomly generated maps. Whats the purpose of the story XD
there is no endgame at all

Ros is even worse than D3 vanilla imo, because the action house was endgame. Farming was boring too but you could sell you stuff. Here nope you can't. That's why people cry that they want more stashspace because dem idiots are hording everything lol

If you consider yourself to be a casual gamer then yes. This game can be compared to angry birds in skill and casualty.

And yes the game is still 100% Utter shit. If you quit because of the grind the prepare to Uninstall. If you haven't purchased the game I wouldn't consider it. Angry birds is 99c

I don't know if this is really a fair comparison. Angry Birds takes a bunch of thought and lining up to knock down the buildings. You also might fail and have to restart the level in Angry Birds. In d3 as long as you don't get too tired to keep mashing the button you can keep grinding ahead. It is possible to fail in angry birds, but you really cannot in d3.

Well as usual the same trolls with the same predictable responses.

As with all modern games these days D3 revolves around multiplayer if you have some like minded m8s just jump on the game every now an then an play the game casually that way you won't get bored of it so easily an it won't become so much of a grind as what happens with most games.

If your in a party you can trade items but there is a timer on items an when that expires or if it's enchanted it becomes account bound. Once you get through story mode you can enter campaign mode the aim of the end game is to push high levels of the greater rifts an no matter how good you are you'll hit a plateau eventually then it becomes about improving gear further even getting lucky to push that plateau that my friend is pretty much bread and butter of any rpg game no what matter what the trolls on this forum claim.

A lot of farming is done via the new kanais cube now you can craft items etc in there if you do plan on starting back up do so when the new 2.4 patch arrives.

If you want pvp stick to other games that you have you say you like POE play that for pvp. My opinion is it's a decent game if you play casually an don't play the game non-stop till you start to get bored of it play it if you fancy a short break from POE for example.
