DUmbing it down for the mega casuals.

Go spend 10-20 hours playing a character and you'll be 95% geared and the rest of the time is basically just adding icing to the cake that is your character.

The game has been labeled by the very people who make it as "A game you play for a few weeks and then leave behind and come back at the start of next season".

When the developers have that mentality, it oozes down onto the final product. Essentially they are making the game how they want it (listen to most of their Tavern Talks, hear them shoot down strong suugestions because "we don't believe it's in the best interest of the community" or "We like this aspect of the game the way it is".). Diablo 3 is no more than a sandbox game designed to fill the wants of the small 5-10 person team that is 'working' on it.

There is no class balance. Each season is a new flavour of the month and all other classes are rendered completely useless for 4-6 months.
There is no end game. The end game consists of farming the same maps over and over hoping for a 0.5-1.5% damage upgrade on your item slots before eventually opening greater rift after greater rift until you hit the lottery and get perfect monsters/map/density and reach top ranks on the leaderboards.

The game is a shell of what is was a year an a half ago before RoS hit. At least trade helped to break-up the numbing routine of farming. There were auctions to watch, the AH to browse, drama created by items and who owns/was selling them. Trade also helped balance out the RNG factor of the game. If you couldn't hit the jackpot and find the godly item you needed, you were able to sell other items you had found over time in order to acquire your desired item. Now it's a matter of "I can't push until I find an Ancient ______, and I'm 200 hours in and haven't found one... while a dude I know is 6 hours in, has one, and is higher on the leaderboards because of it".

Now there is no community. Just 10-15 of us on here bitching about a game that has turned to shit and 10-15 other people saying "Don't listen to these clowns, game is better than ever".

And what the devs said has become true. After 3,000 hours in vanilla, Diablo has become the game I play for 2-3 weeks after seasons reset and drop like a hot potato for 5 months.

That's depressing.

But there is pvp.

Dont worry about the people that say that isnt the real pvp. There are way more people that dont give a shit about pvp than people that do, so blizz won't waste their time on making that "proper pvp"

When PvP was a hot topic it was demanded enough that they made brawling to begin with.

Just because everyone realized that Blizzard lied about their pre-launch PvP claims and gave up on asking for it, doesn't mean that they are suddenly a mega-minority on the matter.

Like a child being denied candy by his mom for a week straight so he gives up and stops asking and the assumption suddenly becomes "Gee, he must not want candy"

If i knew how to code and I had a couple more people on board, I wouldn't mind putting like 40 hours a week working on a HD remake of D2 with unreal engine. Too bad no one out there would want to do such a thing.

Bnet forums are sort of a weird beast.

They are almost exclusively filled with middle aged men who want to put in 5-6 hours per week and still remain competitive in the gaming scene.

I have seen many solid suggestions get thumbed down into oblivion there. It's weird

That is where the "let's get rid of trade because we can't keep up with money spenders in a game that has no competitive aspects to it at all" movement came from. Like the PC liberals of the gaming world.

D2jsp D3 section is weirder, with these so called trolls that spend so much time here talking shit, you would wonder if they spend more time than you playing D3.

I'm sure they do. I still return for seasons for a few weeks until I get bored. It's not a bad game for the first 50-60 hours. The problem is that without trade or PvP it ends up eliminating a lot of the variety from a game that already had very little.

I see some people wearing full exp gear in pre-made 4 man groups with no job just running speed GRs all day long. Over and over. And THAT is the end game. Get your paragon to 1,000+ ASAP and then have a 1,500+ main stat advantage on everyone else when you push leaderboards.

The whole community got a lot weirder once RoS hit, tbh. I mean there used to be a lot of drama on jsp and stupid crap arguments, but at least everyone enjoyed the game. I think a lot of people, myself included, are bitter with what the game has become. Some wanted it to be more like D2, some preferred Vanilla D3 vs RoS. I think you'd find that very few people prefer the game in its' current state vs the % that enjoyed it prior.

It's become a game where putting in 1,000 hours and putting in 50 hours doesn't create as much of a gear gap as it used to. There are players in the top 50 of each class who are under 500 paragon. That's realistically 30 hours of gameplay. And they are within striking distance of people putting in 13-14 hours a day since S4 launch.

I should end my rant.
