The cube offers build diversity, but naturally each class will still have it's META build that everyone needs to run or else they're not allowed to be in the 4 man party.
Don't like the concept of rerolling leggies till they're perfect.
I dunno, it feels like all these changes are nice but the bones of the game are still not the same type of addicting they used to be for me. I used to get annoyed missing 1-2 nights of Diablo, often getting the itch to play it by the Sunday of a weekend out of town. I just simply haven't hard the urge to play it in 6+ months.
I hope they help the community to enjoy the game more, but I don't think these changes bring anyone who has left back.
They are giving you more control on what legendary item you are going for (amazing for a game with as little trade) plus no more trials. Worth coming back for me. I usually play 1 month per season. Maybe this time I'll play more. What makes stop playing is that at higher level there is such little sense of progress. Now its much more easy to focus your energy on upgrading one piece of equipment or pushing one specific floor.
