seriously clean out the insides of it, i burnt out my videocard by ignoring the loud fan. this is especially true if it didn't used to run loud but now it does.

the computer sounds like its using the hard drive to often, dirty fans dont make noise - they just dont work , plus

if it was the m/b processor fan - it would make the sound all the time

but because its only when he plays D3 it sounds like the hes using an o.b video CARD and the processor cant handle the ram needed and it using the page file system on the hard drive for memory, that or a shitty program is running as well that is using up his resources.

But clean the fans first.

no its not that, my computer is maintained its just getting old

that loud fan sound is probably not a fan - its the hard drive spinning up the platters to process memory

fans usually are not variable speed and dont work harder if stuff is heating up - unless you have a special cooling system

witch are alot of money and those fans are built to be uber quiet.

its actually my computer case that makes most of the noise

cases don't make noise - if your computer case makes that fan sound all the time - it might be a cheap fans needs replacing, your hard drive is about to go or your using up to many resources from programs either cause your running to many things or it could be a rogue program that's sucking up resources.

if you know for sure its the fan - you can look into getting quieter fans

the inside of towers are the worse for amplifying sound and use can get sound dampening sheets to install which cAN BE EXPENSIVE

for a super cheap alternative solution - you could also use any type of foam or possibly egg carton sheets to provide sound dampening

as long as you don't block airflow to much.

First of all, clean your computer. It'll do wonders when you blow the dust out of the fans and heatsinks.
