This is coming from a casual player, I get around to playing 10-15 hours a week and played D2 when I was a teenager to death. My WD was my 2nd 60 toon. The first was a wizard which I poured over the dsjps forums and official d3 forums to come up with some idea on the equipment to buy. So I just kinda winged it, and it didn't turn out well, it was embarrassing how unbalanced she was. I think she ended up with 28% to Life, about 300 to Vit, and 300 resists, it was sad.

I want to commend you G5 for making this cause it completely pointed me in the right direction as far as a starting point. I followed it more or less the exact way you wrote it and now have a set of gear that I feel comfortable with and is in balance.
Almost every piece of equipment I put in the way you stated and had a budget to spend about 200K per piece (I had about 2mil and inherited helm, weapon, mojo from a friend). Worked out well.

Mind you, this is a great " what to look for " starter guide , but I doent think it would viable in act 3 , act 1fill you boots!

Again you're confused.
I found that skorn on my (5th?) act 3 run using a 80k wep and 50k off hand.
The wep was 1014 dmg blue ceremonial knife with mana gen and the off hand was xx- 2xx dmg 4% life 8 crit and some int


Act 3 and 4 where very simple using these weps as well.

The skorn made very little difference other than, i kill thing faster now.
Absolutely no change in capabilities though.

If you need any help making a build that works for cheap in a1/2/3/4 let me know, because it's very possible and already done.

Killing things faster is a big deal, especially in later difficulties when using a spell that requires you to be so up close and personal.

First off, hats off for making the guide!! so many people neglect "how to find gear," as being the most important part!

Second -- what should i equip my enchantress with? I've been playing with templar the whole time.

Almost exactly the same as my WD. This build has been very effective for me as well.

It very much is a big deal on other classes more over than a WD.
Reason being is as simple as the word kite. You don't need to kite back nearly as much on a WD because of pets tanking the mobs.

However the damage achievable on a WD with this setup and good use of health globes, is phenomenal with the money spend to damage ratio, and plenty to put away even the toughest elites in a3+.




Ah yes i should have mentioned what skills on your enchantress
charm
power armor
disorient
focus

Gear is not a big issue, just give her as much mf/life/gf/damage as you can
The biggest thing though is to give her a 2h wep with high speed and 4+ % chance to freeze/stun/etc on hit
