Exactly, it's why I said if you ever played Runescape before you wouldn't be getting scammed.
Anyone selling something that seems too good to be true, is more than likely the case. It's why you take extra precaution with trades like that, it doesn't matter how many trades you've done just fine in the past.
My brother is also victim of the stupid scams, guy said "ILL ADD A STAR RUBY ONLY 100k extra Okay?" and swapped out the 8M 1 handed axe he was trying to buy, for something shitty that looked the same.
Dumb people everywhere
These are two completely different scenarios. One, a player got scammed due to a known exploit with the "secure" trade screen interface involving stacks of items. Two, your "dumb" brother didn't re-check the item he was purchasing for 8m when his trade partner dropped the tradescreen to add an item. Your "dumb" brother failed, while the OP's secure interface failed though it gave the impression everything was fine.
That being said, OP should have known better. We knew brimstones had this bug and to be honest the only reason people have attempted to hype them as "the new currency" recently is so that they would have more oppertunity to do just this.
