I haven't touched the game in a couple weeks. All there is to do is grind out rifts and grifts. Ubers is a waste of time. What keeps you guys interested? The better gear you get just makes you able to do the same thing only a little faster. I got my DH to P620 and it seems like the only thing I did was spend shards on a bow that really isn't even necessary (still haven't got it btw, after ~120k shards gambled).

play other classes than dh....

Your new found Ancient Legendary weapon does: Lets say 5% dmg of the monsters HP per hit.

It now does exactly 5% again BUT You are on one higher rift! AND, And! as a bonus you get to see higher dps numbers! How awesome is that.

Played ~ 10 days this year and I can't do it anymore.

I think what keeps me going is starting fresh season with friends and the initial item hunt.

But after i reach ~ paragon 800 I always end up quitting again until the next season. Usually play until i get the good items, then play a bit high end Greater Rifts and then quit until next season. That has been my cycle.

Once you get the right items for your build, it becomes a real struggle to get meaningful upgrades, and then you find the same item you need with the same stats instead of that one stat you are after, it gets super frustrating.
