People hate on it to fit in.
It is the thing to do.
Sad reality indeed. One thing I've found frustrating about the hate on certain games is how respawn hate influences search and destroy hate. I had a shitload of fun playing search on Ghosts, but people hated the respawn so much, so the bangwagon hate was too great and my friends stopping playing it. I never used cheap shit like the remington, thermal LMGs, IEDs, riot shields, or amplify, yet I still have a 2.56 KDR in SnD, because the game was made to benefit the better player more often than not. It has infinite sprint and flawless hit detection, plus the maps have flanks, rather than mirrored maps to ADS.
I only have a couple friends who play IW nowadays, but I can always get a full party on MWR. Some of the haters have yet to play the game other than the beta, but the beta didn't have search, so they're judging based on nothing. They complain about boosting, yet the boosting is extremely nerfed compared to BO3.
I much prefer dropping 10+ kills in >10 minutes on IW over >10 kills in 12+ minutes on MWR.

The game is shit, too many things to list.
Bad spawns respawn player problem. lack of spawn knowledge. the game hasn't been out a month, so you don't know the spawns on all the maps yet.
Bad maps lack of map knowledge and game sense. see above. practice and learn the common spots/routes.
Bad streaks respawn player problem. i much prefer gun on gun CoD. i like not losing a game due to strong streaks stacking against my bad teammates.
Can't throw nades over 4 feet who has room for a nade in their class? i rarely die to them. they're not worth using. if you have room in the class, then use a blackout grenade.
Lag comp will win a gunfight haven't experienced this. infinity ward games benefit the person with a better job and internet connection. get better internet.
Etc.
Also, saying I should go 'play battlefield if I wanted a boots on the ground' is the same as me telling you to go play Halo if you want jetpacks.
It's retarded.

people don't hate iw to be cool they just hate it because it isn't a good game, you have the opinion the maps are great, that's cool for you, but from a community standpoint the maps aren't viable competitively, bombsites in awful locations, awful hardpoint rotations ect ect, uplink has routes that allow you to go outside the map where nobody can stop you from dunking and just go straight into the point. it's got awful hit detection, very inconsistent in that sense, and it doesn't help the awful hit detection that people can fly over your head or make stupid brainless plays and just circumvent setups and map control altogether, which is what has always been call of duty's defining skill gap.
bottom line.
bad maps
bad hit detection
jetpacks lower skillgap
no jetpack game has been good, and they never will be, because it takes a precedent for what call of duty has fundamentally been about as a franchise dating back to call of duty 1 and throws it completely out the window. if i wanted to play something that wasn't call of duty, i would play a different game.
but it doesn't matter, because we got MWR with it and i couldn't possibly be happier.
Technically camping and aiming at a door is skilled in the sense that it can be a smart play. It's not impressive, but it's smart. Using the word skillful doesn't fit imo. I don't love jetpacks, but I don't hate them either, but they do help counter "campers." When it comes to pubs I think jetpacks increase the skillgap. The hit detection has been fine in pubs apart from the shitty aim assist with the SMGs imo.
My only two cents with the competitive scene is I have to admit watching the pros play MWR wagers has been way more exciting to watch than IW scrims.
