Not to mention that spawns, hit detection, damage consistency and overall server quality have all gone done with each new installment.
CoD is definitely fickle about these issues.
MW2 - Good hit detection and connection for the most part. There's definitely some lag spikes every now and then, but the lag comp was balanced. The spawns were usually decent.
BO1 - Garbage hit detection and connection. They introduced wave spawns, which are absolutely terrible.
MW3 - Decent hit detection and connection..not as good as MW2. The spawns were decent as well, especially for being relatively smaller maps.
BO2 - Lag comp deaths constantly. The strength of weapons like the remington, tac, and DSR make matters even worse. Wave spawning still happens, but nowhere near as bad. I liked the spawns for the most part.
Ghosts - Perfect hit detection and connection on 360, but not as crisp on xbone. Didn't play respawn on this game, so can't comment on spawns.
AW - Fuck this game, who cares?
BO3 - First treyarch game to have good hit detection and connection, which is super odd to say the least. The spawns are really, really bad.
Since the next CoD is IW, we can assume the hit detection and connection won't be an issue, but the game is guaranteed to have amplify/awareness. It's probably going to start out with SnD kills only counting as 250 instead of 500 and won't get patched for a month, which seems to be a common trend for the last 2 CoDs.
