Going to be getting a PS4 to play. I was good at MW2 but the meta was probably different then as it was easy to dominate people by camping with claymores. Any basic tips for me to have an edge over most people in public games?

There really is no tips for new people. You just play the game, weather your good or bad when you start you just play the game. Get your play style down and get familiar with the game and how it runs/works. If you were good in previous CoDs then you got some experience. Take that experience and apply it to the newer CoDs, Use what is best for you. And Always no matter what don't get mad cuz there is someone better than you. You are almost 5 days into the game being out and you are just starting, Expect it. Just play your best and you'll be fine.

the best way to be good at bo3 is not measure your success by your stats, but how much fun you're having.

Want to know how to get good? Here's how in all seriousness...

Forget about K/D. Its irrelevant.
Run and gun constantly. Never camp. Never snipe. You can snipe later.
Don't be afraid to die. Its a video game who cares you respawn.
Forget about K/D seriously...

Do this every game and within a few days you will be a better player. You will learn the maps in the days to come. Pay attention to the high traffic areas.

- Set your controller to tactical. More often than not being able to drop shot will get you more kills than being able to knife faster. Also, you have to knife twice to kill someone in BO3 if you're carrying a weapon.
- Set your sensitivity to 4-5. BO3 also has a vertical sensitivity, which I like to set on 6. You'll have better accuracy at long/mid-range. You will pivot slower, but once you learn the maps you won't get shot in the back as much, so the need to pivot fast won't be necessary.
- Audio Settings:
--- Master Volume: 10
--- Controller Sound: Disabled
--- Audio Presets: High Boost
--- Multiplayer Dialogue/Music: Disabled
--- Subtitles: Off
--- Advanced Volume:
----- Voice Volume: 10
----- Music Volume: 0
----- SFX Volume: 10
----- Cinematics Volume: 6

- Use laser sight and long barrel on every SMG. The best SMG is currently the Pharo. I recommend also using rapid fire with it.
- Use fast hands on every class.
- Use awareness on every class, at least until you unlock dead silence.
- I don't use a tier 1 perk on any class. I mostly use fast hands, awareness, and gungho or tac mask. Hard wired is also really useful, but there isn't room in most classes for it.
- Don't sprint around corners if you think someone is there. You want to have your gun up and ready to shoot.
- Hip fire and strafe in very close quarters, rather than ADS. It's easy to follow the person.
- Don't go for revenge kills if someone is camping on a headglitch. Move on to someone else.

- Buy a headset to help soundwhore. I recommend Astro A40s, because you can use them with your console and PC, as well as simultaneously. There are cheaper version that work just fine as well.. do some research.
- Buy a scuf controller. This controller has paddles on the back, which you can map to your A/B buttons. It's helpful to be able to knife and jump without having to take your thumb off the joystick. (You can do well without this, but it does help.)
- Buy kontrol freeks. They're joystick extenders, which allow for more subtle movements for more precise aiming. I use one on my right joystick only. (You can do well without this, but it does help.)
