It's good. I've played 2 FFAs and then SnD for about 18 hours.
The maps don't play well for FFA due to the size. I was rushing and couldn't find any sweet spot for spawns, so each game lasted over 10 mins.
The alternating off/def for SnD should've happened years ago, so I really enjoy that aspect. The best of 11 I don't know if I totally enjoy yet. I don't dislike it though, but this creates almost a 15 min long game on average, plus it tends make people camp more since it gives them time to learn from their mistakes, so flanking usually only works once/twice tops, then the enemy camps. This creates more competition, which is nice, but I just dislike having to camp the campers. The shorter rounds aren't bad, but it's virtually impossible to play methodical, let alone clutch, especially anything like a 1v5/1v6. The 7.5 second defuse is a little too much competitive-like, especially with the 1:30 rounds. I just don't think 6v6 works well for 4v4 rules. I would much prefer best of 7 with 2:00 rounds, but maintain the alternating off/def.
I agree with this. I don't like the shorter rounds and 7.5 second defuse. The defuse time makes smart plays virtually non existent. You cannot sneakily defuse a bomb anymore unless the opposing team is actually horrible. They've made it so you actually have to kill every last person to defuse the bomb.
I do really like the 6 rounds though. Gives more of a fighting chance for comebacks when you're at a disadvantage, or at least to make up for some of your mistakes. The alternating is a blessing, that's for sure.
I don't have anything to say about the competitiveness, as I don't do competitive at all.
What platform did you get it on Eric?
