Alright chaps here is the deal

I think im really rusty in cod and lost my touch in dropshotting

60% of the time I try to do it I get headshotted...I guess every 15yo mouthbreather aims at the middle
Im kinda too slow to prone but instead crouch instead of proning and this causes the little brat to get a headshot. I swear I watched 10-15 killcams and this is ridiculous
this is in CoD4 PC, BO and BO2 on 360.

I'm pretty sure when you drop shot and someone aims at you, the aim assist pulls your sight down.

Not everyone is made for dropshot, if you cant get used to it after a day, then that just mean dropshotting isnt for you.

It took me 1 single game to get used to it, then its just a reflex to dropshot everytime, even when im in the back of the guy.

I used to jump shot a lot, it's actually really nice, like frankprime said, its just a reflex and if that suits you it helps you.

Only drop shot in certain situations. Like everyone said its all bout jump shots and strafing. Turn your controller to tactical and try not to over do it.

MW2 - dropshot / knife / strafe
BO1 - jumpshot / strafe / knife
MW3 - strafe / knife
BO2 - jumpshot / strafe
Ghosts - dropshot / strafe / knife

IW games tend to make dropshotting work, but MW3's stalker punishes dropshotting sometimes, so it's better to just strafe or knife. Ghosts knifing is good as long as you're both standing up. If the person you're trying to knife is laying down, against a wall, or in a corner, then it's worthless.

Treyarch games tend to make jumpshotting more beneficial, but the choppy animation and bad hit detection pretty flaky all-around. Seeing as thought bullets don't always do what they tell you too, knifing in BO1 tends to be pretty strong, whereas BO2 knifing is total ass. Also, Treyarch tends to have a slower dropshot time and slower prone pivot speed.
