When i remember playing cod4, obviously it was just a better game than the recent CODs but the main thing i miss about it was the community.
Players actually just played the game and treated it like a game, not some way of life.

Ghosts i try and play but its just idiot 12 year olds using on the best OP guns and perks which some youtube commentator told them are the best and sitting in corners tryharding furiously.
I'm all for playing to win but when it comes to the point where u need to play like that, your not treating it like fun and games anymore.

Folks playing cod4 ran about like idiots and used a whole variety of guns, sure you got the tryhard sweaty kids that used m16 but at least they were over 16 and actually moved about.

Thats the reason i've hated the last few cods, everybody are sweaty little tryhard campers who take it too seriously

So you hate campers?

The community in Cod 4 was a bunch of quickscopers who wanted to be Ireapz and Grizz, and then also people who ran around with the M16/P90.

That was all it was, unless you played pro-mod, then you used the AK74u.

I think the gun point is because of the increased exposure of competitive play. People who play this game professionally have figured out the best guns to use, so people use those guns. Back in the Cod4 days, people didn't have access to that information so easily. Also, people want to be like these pro's and are obsessed with their K/D. No one really cared about their overall K/D that much in Cod4.

It seems like the average age has gone way down. Everybody is a squeaker it seems. I think around cod4 is when most people came to the series so it felt like a fresher more refined game. Even now the games are never that bad, but everybody has played the good ones so they pick it apart at every chance possible. I love cod4 and it will probably always be my favorite cod because it was simple and not overdone, but it still had it's fair amount of balance issues.

I agree that the game has evolved to people who look up stupid shit on youtube and do nothing but that.

Also finding it hilarious that kids who were 12 playing cod4 complaining about squeakers today lol.

I started on MW2, and we all know people almost always prefer which CoD they started on, but from a logical POV, MW2 at its core is a better CoD, minus the BS. MW2 is smoother, better connection, better audio, and imo better maps. There are good and shit maps on both CoDs, but in general I like the flanks and elevation in MW2 more than the linear and funneling maps of CoD4. I think there's more gun variety in MW2 as well, besides in the SMG section. So many good ARs and secondaries in MW2, plus both snipers are worth using. MW2 without deathstreaks and tubes is the closet thing to a perfect CoD with other minor tweaks as well. I think the only main argument that I can totally understand when comparing the two CoDs has to do with how powerful the secondaries are in MW2. I like the strong secondaries, but I would also equally enjoy the game if there were only pistols. The main downside is how strong knifing is in MW2 and dropping people quick with AA12s is one of the main counters in close quarters to panic knifers.

You don't think you did but I'm going to guess you did lol. I don't think I've ever heard a 12-13 old talk who didn't have an annoying voice since I was about 16. Not to mention the maturity factor. It's just hilarious that you guys so quickly forget that at one point you were little kids playing the games. Probably one of the biggest reasons they were "better" back then, we were not as cynical as we are now, that tends to be something that comes with age.

When I say squeaker I'm also referring to the maturity factor. Some of my best friends still have pretty high pitched voices at ages 18-22. Although everybody says it, I matured really fast. I'm one of those kids that had a beard in middle school and confused everybody lol. I game regularly with a few kids that are 14-15 that are very mature. Every kid is different. I still love the franchise, but it has had some bumps.
