I was playing about even every game but we were winning and a friend was working bitchs through every win and he got silver and I got platinum how does this work?

Depends on how you look at it.

The percise internal calculations are very complex and very very situational, acting differently depending on who you're matched up with and depending on whether you're running with a full party or anything less than full (which is considered "solo").

Yea out of a full party they gave out 4 platinums and gave the 2 best players silver and gold. I mean they carried the team good.

you get the same number of idiots as you do in pub tdm.. and all that ends up happening is you get angry because your teammates lose the game.
