Hey guys so I've begun uploading videos of BO2 on my Youtube channel.

My commentaries showing games for 5+ minutes are able to be monetized but when I upload a tutorial that's like 2 minutes they have an issue with it.

Any Youtubers here have a clue why that is?

This is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB-m22Rg9yk

its not original content like a commentary is

there are probably millions of "plaza rush videos" out there, so its not original at all.

That's a good point. I was just about to agree with this but now I don't think that's the issue.

My 11-0 commentary was just rejected as well. Just my gameplay and voice. No music or anything. :/

you have to have permission from trearch to make money using their game footage. I believe that the rules changed recently

Alright thanks guys. This helped a lot.

I take it I'll just have to disable monetizing for now until I get a partnership? I just watched a video and the guy said chances of getting permission with only like 10 subs is VERY rare.

Yes, you will have to wait until you've partnered your channel before you can enable monetization and actually receive the ad revenue. Youtube won't send out a check until you've accumulated $100 worth of revenue, which is usually a minimum of 100-150k views. With my contract I tend to get 60-90 cents per 1k views, which fluctuates depending on how many people are using adblocker or using mobile devices that don't display ads.

I highly recommend you grow your channel and wait to acquire a beneficial partnership instead of just partnering with any of the countless options that are available to everyone and their grandma. Chances are the people who will partner anyone have total shit contracts, which take 60%+ of your revenue. Take the time to read the contract! I personally partnered with Yeousch, fortunately.

Also, I just glanced at a couple of your vids. Not a bad start for commentaries. You don't sound stuttering or nervous, so props to you. When it comes to video editing, I recommend to 'disable resample' on your vids. What program do you use to edit?

he's probably 12. it'd be a miracle if he even reads your entire post, let alone an actual contract.

He sounded moderately mature in his commentaries. :P
