just wondering how do you move up divisions in league play

coz basically me few other ppl started together after 5 placement matches got placed into gold. then after about 5 games we got moved into platinum rank 50 or so

then we played up ladderni platinum and after about 1hour we were occupying rank 1-4 with same points but we didnt get promoted or anything

we played few games after hitting rank 1 still stayed there. and i looked online doesnt say how to move up divisions

btw this is the tdm series 1

well masters is only top 2% i think, so wouldn't you have to overtake someone in it to move up?

idk, i got masters in the tdm thing day 1. :)

Each rank has divisions. Mine is like Crazy-ass Werewolves or something. And in each division the there is a ladder ranking system based on their ladder points which are based on a number of things (*more on this below). You simply accumulate these points and lower your place in the ladder until you reach 1, at which point some voodoo black magic happens and you're in the next rank (from Bronze -> Silver -> Gold -> Platnum -> Masters or something like that).

As for ladder points, most people prefer to run in parties that are 1 below full and picking up 1 green arrow each game, that way each of you are running "solo" and your ladder points are based on more factors mostly relating to your own play.

Never went to #1 in any ladder though, it's random tbh..

You can literally jump from Crazy-ass werewolves to Ez-pk vampire noobs in a matter of 1 game even if you're ranked 186 in your sub division lol.

It's not "random", and you do jump up positions. The thing is (especially this early in season), that the difference between 1st and 186th in a lot of divisions only differs by a little. However, once you get to the higher ranks, such as Platnum and Master, there's more of a difference then the ranks where people just place then stop playing.

yea its strange ive read around and theres so many random variables like apparently winstreak matters. thats why im confused

also when i jumped from gold to platinum i was only rank 50. so im assuming u dont actually need rank 1 in a division to move up

No, you just have to PASS rank 1. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my first explanation.

I'd assume when you go up a division, someone else is going down a division. Idk the exact specifics....

Just think of it as a standard ladder that's cut into different segments, each segment having many parallel (thus uninterfering) groups that you have to climb to reach the bottom of the next segment.

There is 200 people in a subdivision.
It seems like when someone gets platinum and the last subdivision is full, they just make a new subdivision.
Flawed.
