the only COD game ive played online multiplayer so far is MW 3

im going to start black ops II now

can anyone tell me the main differences? does creating a custom class work the same way (as in you can change weapons, perks, etc whenever (except in game of course))

any other main differences you can think of, can you post? do challenges and weapon experience work the same way? does prestiging work the same?

also, what is the "zombies" thing all about

TY in advance

/e Am I to understand that if I want to unlock stuff at higher levels, that I have to save all of my "tokens" and play with crap until i reach that level? or what

The custom classes can be changed normally in the lobby, but have a different setup than mw3.
You get 10 items basically ( guns, attachments, perks, grenades, tactical, all count towards that 10 ) to make a class, you can change your class anyway you want, its not like the tokens, but can only have a maximum of 10 items.
There are some other things that give you some things like, 3 attachments on your primary, extra perk slot, two lethal grenades, etc; I'll call them [ bonus ] for this explination ( I don't remember them all, but using these count as 1 item )
For example, I'll have a sniper ( 1 ) with extended mags ( 2 ), rocket launcher ( 3 ), 3 perks ( 6 ), semtex ( 7 ), emp grenade ( 8 ), [bonus-take two lethal grenades] ) 9 ), second semtex grenade ( 10 ).

I believe you get weapon experience the same way as in mw3, except in black ops 2, the higher your weapon level, the more attachments you unlock instead of like 'range' or 'kick' in mw3.

Any kills, captures( tactical gameplay like capture the flag, or hardpoint etc ), assists go towards your killstreaks. ( I don't believe your killstreaks stack, but if you use them you can get another one. )
For example, If I use Warthog, attack dogs, and vtol warship. ( After I get my highest killstreak, which would be the vtol, my killstreak xp will reset, and if I get more xp, ill get another warthog ( only if I used my previous one to make room for the next )
^ I'm not 100% sure on the killstreaks as I haven't played in a while.

I don't know about prestiging.

The unlock tokens you get, you might as well use asap. You get a ton of them, so there's no reason to save them.

As for the zombies, you would have to be more specific.

do you level up and do challenges in zombie mode?

and how does it basically work? like what are the rules? is there a site or online guide that explains the basics?

There is some kind of leveling up system, but it doesn't affect your zombie gameplaying in anyway. ( It's just for the leaderboards, or to show you have some skill, etc )
I know little to nothing about this though, so you would have to ask someone else for specifics.

Yeah, not sure on exact ratios but this is about right.

Zombies
Just like any other zombies... Get good guns, kill zombies, rack up points.
There are "Easter Eggs" you can do, but they don't effect the actual gameplay (youtube for best description)
There is a "bank" (in the city. blow up the door in the bank with explosive) which you can bank your money. If you want to quit, and have points, go deposit them in here and you can withdraw them starting any other match (250k points max) even in round 1.
You can teleport. There are 'lamppost' with green lights, once you get a Denizon on your head, run under this light. it will create a portal. (must rather be turned on by the power, or have a turbine.
There are MANY buildable items. (google/youtube your friend here) Turbine, wondergun, traps, parts for the bus, ladder for galvaknuckles, Pack a Punch etc.
galvaknuckles are badass. 1 hit kills until round 13, and only takes 2 hits to get a Denizon off your head (instead of 5)

Good luck :)
