no, you need to unlock the gun with your unlock token before you prestige. unless you're on your first prestige.

I think he he means that if he need to unlock the weapon again to be able to spend the unlock on it.

If that's what you thought its wrong. Just press RT or R1 on the weapon/equipment/perk you want to unlock at any level. You can unlock An94 being level 4 and still be bale to use it for example)
