If that was true, the Infinity Ward games wouldn't have sold as well as they did.

Idk about current numbers, but before Christmas for sure, MW3 outsold Black Ops 2 by 14% (Matching number of days after release, obviously). If zombies made CoD half as popular as it is today, why the hell would more people buy a game without zombies? Your argument is invalid.

possibly because they are sick of spending $60 every time a new game comes out. I have not bought a cod since the first black ops.
possible because people want to play a game that is based on real, modern combat.
zombies was so popular that it sort of pounded the series into people's heads, giving it an arcade element.
