I agree and disagree a little bit with what everybody is saying.
I think the skill level has grown somewhat, due to the fact that people usually get pretty good if they've been playing the franchise for the last 8-10 years. It's not the community that I miss, it's the simplicity. Everything after WaW was overkill. Cod4 and WaW had useful perks, but not many were overused (except jugg + mp40/mp5) and the things that were overpowered were easily countered if you're a good player. Now, you have people calling in juggernauts, becoming a chopper gunner, or even becoming Mike Myers or the fucking predator. 3/5/7 kill streaks were as far as they should've went. Gun skill always prevailed in the older cods along with being smart and outplaying people. Now you might outplay somebody just to find a dog waiting around a corner, or an entire house filled with IED's. It's just become a shit fest. I do not use any assault or support streaks, only specialist and even that feels op. I'd be fine if the next cod had no kill streaks or perks, which obviously would never happen!
Yeah there a lot less bullshit in old cods for people to abuse.
I think one of the main things they need to get back into the game is SP or Jugg, it balances out Anti-UAV perk. Like you should have to choose between stealth or gunfight advantage.
Maps in new games are fucking dildos, and just make everybody wana camp or get shot in the back a lot
