It's #1 to me for a lot of reasons
1. 3/5/7 kill streaks. I actually really hate the customizable killstreaks. Crazy powerful killstreaks ruined CoD for me.. What skill does it take to call in dogs, or a controllable airship or some stupid shit the new games has
2. The maps averaged out as the better maps of all the call of duty games (bar mw2)
3. you could use ANYTHING and not be at a disadvantage (mw2 ump or acr, or smgs in bo2, just overpowered shit) don't tell me about the m16 please, if you're not retarded any gun on cod4 is viable and good
4. Quickscoping and optic fan boys weren't around or at least not as big in popularity (Can't play a game in mw2 without people quickscoping and trick shotting)
5. It was just so simple. That's my #1 reason probably.
I know you didn't really fiend CoD4 back in the day (though idk how much you've even played) but I put A LOT of time into almost every CoD game starting from CoD2, and 4 is still my favorite.
Just don't be like Kevorkian who's first cod was bops so in his mind it's good

I put many hours into CoD4, still don't believe it deserves all that praise.
I'm not gonna get into it too much, cus eventually CoD4 prime kids who are blind to any reason that fights against it being #1 gets upset. Most people in this SF don't base their opinions on logic, so debating this is pointless. CoD is still simple and your listed points isn't doing it for me. Streaks came with a playing perspective that people didn't often use as much as they do now, so pubs aren't as boring and easy for some(I say some because I know some moron would've said "Pubs are easy regardless, hur hurr I'm so gud"). Maps, meh, all the same shit to me. UMP might have been OP because the other SMG's are trash in MW2, but the AR's are somewhat versatile. Like you said, if you aren't retarded, you can use an M16 and dominate because it's a 1 burst in that game, putting an "OP" gun in the hands of a baddie doesn't make him any better(granted most of the population is such). The fan boys you speak of came with popularity of the game, but I don't see a problem with it.
Not directing this at anyone in particular, so nn idiotic replies. Most of the die hard CoD4 fans are just riding the band wagon because they got into CoD earlier than a great deal of people. Because if you haven't played CoD4 in its prime, then you don't know what a good game is.
I know I'm ranting, but ehh, whatever.

Good thing I'm not saying it out of nostalgia then.
That's what everyone that's on the CoD4 superiority complex says, I don't really care tbh, I was just saying, it's old hearing things like that over and over again.
