Thats very close to how i play. I commit to the current game. Im mostly aggressive, but you know, you'll camp a corner to reload, and then you see someone turn it 2 seconds later, its not the "oh im a jewish spider let me wait in my corner and let them come to me" type of gameplay.
in regards to KD, i think it helps give an accurate depiction of where that player stands in the game. I find it helpful when playing gamebattles matchs, but if i wasn't into GB, i wouldn't worry to much about it, unless to just rub it in my bud's face.
This except gb is easy as all get out
I've 4v4ed teams with 20k ranks in variant and won 2 out of three games with my team
And we rarely gb (I think my rank is like 700k lol)
E: I find gb players to be un inventive and predictable and very whiny
