Won my first family law case today. Pretty stocked

That's awesome man. The attorney in the office next to mine does family law, shit always seems super depressing. Would hate dealing with family drama on a day to day basis.

It was actually something my new firm doesn't do. My friend was going to take the case for $4000 and the client thought that was more than he could afford. He asked me if I would do it for 2. I said I would and the hearing was scheduled for today. I found my new job after that. I didn't have and overhead costs and it actually didn't take much time other than going to court today. Was fun.

Well gratz man. Got all my rep docs in on my first SS client, waiting for them to process so I can talk with his case worker. Not the best case, but you gotta start somewhere.

I'm picking up SS cases on the side as a non-attorney rep. Got a ways to go before I can actually represent a client in court but the majority of SS cases are ended without going to hearing level.
