Really hate sound-whores. In Ghosts it was the worst... people sitting in dark corners or around walls waiting for footsteps to know exactly where an enemy was coming from.

Awareness would be fine as long as Dead Silence trumped it. Dead Silence should actually make your footsteps "dead silent".

Although I agree awareness in ghosts was annoying, the game was built really well for SnD imo, because having never once equipped awareness, yet producing my highest stats in CoD to date, I think decision-making trumped awareness a lot of the time. Still, getting 180 soundwhored was really annoying. Knowing the maps really well helped, plus flanks actually exist in ghosts. MW3 maps with sitrep were as basic as you can get, because sitrep on hardhat or mission was stupid as fuck.

For what? Even in respawn, if you weren't using ninja, then you were a free kill, even moreso in SnD. You can't really hear people using ninja. Claymores weren't remotely OP, so the visual aspect was pretty pointless. Even if people were making CLAY+C4 bombs, it only takes 1 round of SnD to learn from it. Most maps don't allow for the time to set them up in hugely beneficial spots.
