other than what you said makes noise, which is all it takes to be soundwhored.
i feel like you're missing the point - mostly because you want to. that is to say... a silent defuse would make you change your play style.
my above statement was centered around my belief that both the plant and the defuse should be silent. logically, it makes sense for the sound they make to be the same - but i believe, and i said it above, that both should be silent.
i'm not talking about "realism" so i'm not sure where you're going with the "ninja pro isn't a real thing"...
it all comes down to one simple fact: your play style doesn't fit a game in which the bomb defuse is silent, because you'd actually have to defend the target area instead of choosing the safest entrance and waiting to hear the flip of the briefcase.

the person is on offense though. the person pushed up, made himself vulnerable for 5 seconds and got out of there without anyone on the enemy team seeing it. why punish him?
this is exactly what i'm talking about - if we're going to pretend for a moment that the planting makes noise, you don't want to be caught planting by someone who heard you flip open the briefcase and type in the activation code. but to hell with the guy trying to defuse the bomb on your watch (while you're around the corner at the local 7-11 picking up a slurpee) because when you hear that flip you come charging in guns blazing...
mkay. my point all along has been that there should be some consistency, and that neither planting nor defusing should make any noise. it's unnecessary and actually requires little to no skill to accomplish when you're just off hiding somewhere within earshot waiting for that noise to tell you it's safe to run in and shoot the guy defusing.
and yes, i read the parts about the "fake defuse" and "c4 on target" etc - but they're pretty irrelevant man. grasping at straws etc
and yes, i read the parts about "someone can't afford a headset, therefor all people shouldn't really benefit from using one." which really just made me laugh because you're now trying to become a sympathetic victim. almost everyone has a headset, and they've made it so you really don't even need one if your monitor/tv has speakers.
