The el gato doesn't have software I believe, pretty sure it installs the drivers from the hdpv. As far as the VoiceOver you can record live in game from your headset but it will pop a lot. Best to do later commentaries if you really want to get into uploading game plays, you can get a nice mic for round 100$ for better sound quality

The record is basically recording stream vid. The more frames you capture the more flawless it will be as you break down/edit frames (ie slow motion) the frames move so quickly that unless you slow it down you don't really see the gap between the captured frames. Might not have explained it completely but pm me if you don't understand lol
