same - the idea of dedicated servers actually makes me rethink my decision to stop playing cod.

I'll definitely be getting Ghosts. Will be nice to see if it actually makes a difference.

They could still run into the problem where they have a dedicated server in WA and they match up all people from NY or something with one WA kid. Hopefully you will be able to play on which server you want and you wont get matched with one that will still give someone an edge. Hard to say though, it will be a hell of a lot better than playing on these garbage 1-3 bar connections that so many WiFi stealing kids give out.

well i read about the ability to rent servers - i'm really hoping that's a PC only feature

I highly doubt they'd make the same mistake, you never know anymore with these franchises though. I honestly don't know if I'm more of a cynical ass or if FPS games are just getting worse, probably a little of both.

well, it's not that i'd hate the idea of rent-a-server, but i would hate the ability to kick people.

it'd be cool to set up your own playlist of maps/gametypes so you can pretty much skip the shitty maps.

I feel like they would be worried about the profit factor on rent a server if they didn't give the renter some sort of advantage. These franchises have definitely been more worried about making a quick buck than the game itself, I just don't see them taking a risk like that.

We've seen it time and time again with rushed out maps and half ass camos, they know tons of kids will buy them; even though the majority of them are garbage.

How so, there might still be a lot lag compensation. BO2 on PC is a good example and it has dedis.
