Call of Duty is an arcade shooter. You don't need to multitask in it. Get some headphones, learn the maps, hope you pull host. There isn't much going on in terms of gameplay (besides what they are showing with Ghost) you kill or be killed and there is hardly ever more than one way to confront the situation. If you know what to do you can repeat that tactic over and over.

Battlefield is a tactical shooter. You need to multitask in it. Knowing the map isn't enough you need to know what you can do in the map, where you can do it, and how you can do it. You can take on a situation a multitude of ways.

Neither of which is a negative for the games. It's just whatever you can flow with.

I prefer Battlefield, in my opinion CoD is getting very repetitive and boring. I used to love CoD but now I just can't fathom ever paying $60 for another CoD game.
Not to say you won't have fun in CoD, it just not my cup of tea anymore. The killstreaks really ruined it for me, same with some of the perks.
Battlefield is more of a team work game, more of a actual war feeling to it.

More of an actual war feeling. I always like the stories from soldiers about hiding behind a corner so the fallen soldier can respawn in battle instead of farther away.

Those stories make me cry bro. My brother was one of those heroes, and he will always be remembered. He risked his life just to let his mate respawn and got throat sliced from behind. He was unlucky that there wasn't any medics near to revive him with their defibrillator to be able to keep on kicking ass in the field.

May he always find a jet upon his respawn.

i'm confused. do you not care about the gameplay at all when it comes to FPS or do bells and whistles matter more than anything else? CoD is about fast-paced killing action. BF is about screen-shaking, lens-flaring, marathon-simulating, clunky-moving, C4-trolling, vehicle-riding, play-4-the-lulz game.
