I'll give you some basic tips.

Since you're playing TDM and not an objective game, I would first stick with the assault rifles. Most are good, but some of the better ones are the remington or sc2010..again, most are good, but I think these stand out as being strong. If you want to try out SMGs, then use the mtar or vector..I recommend grip and whatever other attachment you want.

When you shoot an unsilenced weapon you show up on the radar as a dot to the enemy, which isn't a problem when you're an advanced player, but since you're a beginner I would recommend using a silencer. The downside to using a silencer is your damage drop over distance increases, which is why more skilled people want to have the highest damage possible and go without the silencer.

A lot of people use headsets and even in TDM it can be beneficial to use the perk dead silence. It technically isn't as huge of an issue in crazy, fast-paced respawn game modes, but you might benefit from being a little quieter when you're running around.

Regarding your weapon sensitivity in the options. The sensitivity scale on most CoDs is 1-10. Black Ops 2 had 1-14 and Ghosts has 1-20. In ghosts most professional players are around 4-6. I personally play on 4. This will help increase your accuracy over range, but will hinder your ability to pivot quick. Pivoting quick isn't an issue when you have good map knowledge and spawn knowledge, which is why some people recommend higher sensitivities. I personally suggest you try out 4 and see if this helps your accuracy.

Another option I personally recommend is switching your button layout to tactical. This will switch your joystick push-down button to prone and switch your prone button to knife. More often than not dropshotting or going prone real quick will win you a gunfight than being able to knife fast. Knifing fast is still beneficial, which is why some people play with the claw setup or use scuf controllers. I personally have a scuf, but I still play on tactical button layout.

Beneficial perks I recommend using.. Ready Up..this will help you raise your weapon after sprinting. Focus..this will reduce your character flinching while being shot. Marathon..this is for bigger maps and is more useful for objective game modes, but I would still recommend it on every class. I would suggest perks like quickdraw or stalker, but I personally think they're almost too expensive of perks to use, so I don't want to get used to them since they limit my class loadout.

Lastly, if you die to someone, then go back for a revenge kill and continue to die.. stop going back there unless you know how to kill them. Some power positions are very strong and it's sometimes best to not continue to feed them kills. If you know how to flank them, then go for it, but this is just a good thing to learn. You don't want to camp, but ultimately you want someone to be chasing you for revenge so they're the ones getting caught sprinting.

Edit: I forgot one thing. When you're traversing a map the majority of time that you get killed is usually because you're caught sprinting, whereas someone might already be camping with their sights up, which is why ready up comes in handy, but it's best to sometimes sprint in short bursts to periodically bring your sights up, this way you can ADS quick if needed. These short bursts of movements is called 'twitching'. Also, you don't always have to aim down sight (ADS), so when you're in close quarters and you bump into each other just hipfire instead. Also, when you're about to enter a room that you know someone is there, stop sprinting and just walk with your gun up so you have faster reactions.

Agree with most other than Stalker.

Stalker is a must for me when I run any AR class.

No... do not be that guy.

Just practice ~ Gun Skill > Map Awareness > Everything else

Get better at aiming and play around with guns until you find something you like. Don't attempt to copy someone's style, you will never learn to adapt and you will be a mediocre player at best.

I agree with this. Watching some vids may help me out with learning some good spots on the maps, but as far as gaming style, every person plays differently. Gun handling and skills cant be learned from vids.
