MW2 all day, every day. perfect hit detection.. bullets did what they're suppose to do. shot around corners rarely happened. 1-shot sniper bullets to the waste/feet never happened. the animation was fluid and smooth. the maps had flanks, along with infinite sprint and fast climb to traverse them.
MW2 also has the best sound system in the entire franchise. it has better sound than the 4 CoDs that came after it, which is illogical. it's also a major reason it separates my love for it over CoD4..the superior sound quality. one thing you'll never see in MW2 are people getting away with 'ninja defuses' ..not the ones where people just lay and wait, but if they're in a clutch situation, people don't just go for the bomb and survive. in BO1/BO2/Ghosts, the bomb defuse noise is more or less non-existent..nowhere near MW2's range. I think the developers just hate people with headsets and want to nerf them, which also brings on the point of dead silence and ninja. MW2 got footsteps perfect. You shouldn't hear footsteps, unless on certain surfaces like leaves/jumping off buildings, etc. BO1 totally fucked footsteps, MW3 has sitrep, BO2 has amplify, and so does Ghosts.
We're 4 CoDs past MW2 now, so it's safe to say it will remain the superior CoD, even with the other flaws.
I think one of the worst things that happened to CoD was when they started making it to where Sitrep pro/Amplify didn't have a counter. You'd expect Dead Silence to counter Amplify, but it doesn't and is simply retarded.
I understand playing with a headset and listening to footsteps etc. But when people are going to sit in a place where there's only 2 ways to get to them, and then they soundwhore the shit out of it with amplify, it annoys the hell out of me.
At least in MW3 you could crouchwalk, but it seems like trying to do so in Ghosts will just end up getting you killed in the end.
As for favorite CoD, I'd go CoD4>Mw3>Mw2>WaW. Ghosts is one I'm still trying to cope with.
