Have you tried it yet? Extinction is fucking awesome, thought that alone would be cause enough for you to buy it. Not to mention the legit hit detection, which makes it amazing for people who play multiplayer nonstop.

I would like to play Extinction mode, but I would not pay 60$ to play that alone. Maybe someday soon I will have the opportunity to try it out. So many other games are more worth the money than this...

Never had much of a problem with hit detection. Usually just the occasional lag... From what I have heard about multiplayer makes me not interested in the slightest. Bad gameplay graphics, spawns and maps. The idea that Aftermath would be comparable to the smallest map on ghost is unappealing. Not a fan of ridiculously large maps.
