Grip is worthless.

The SMR all in all is not as good as the FAL, better in close'ish situations since the FAL's 2 shot kill range falls off quite quickly while the SMR has an extended 2 shot kill range (about 2.5x further than FAL's) but at a loss of fire rate, ammo, and a lot more recoil. Also, keep in mind these are completely different guns when full auto, I'm strictly speaking of semi-auto.

If you do enjoy the semi auto FAL, I'd recommend trying the M8A1, one of the most amazing all around guns in the game, and it's burst fire. Note: do not select fire it, it only gets worse. Try it with Quickdraw and Stock.

I put quickdraw on everything.

You say you are a noob, give the LSAT a try. 100 bullets and extremely accurate. A wicked good spray and pray weapon, and if you throw the quickdraw anda target finder on it, you will have a k/d of 3 or more easily. So definitely try the LSAT, or some prefer the HAMR for light machine guns. HAMR is less accurate, but better for close range combat and mobility.

Another good noob gun is the entire SMG class.

/e OH and remmington. That is the first shotgun in case you did not make the connection.

Msmc - Grip extended mag (I also use laser sight on this for drop shot no ads so you can think about that)

lightweight/toughness/ tac mask extreme conditioning
