I don't have experience with sending a controller in to be altered, but I'd rather have one from Scuf through their mainstream process. I've had my 360 Scuf for almost a year and a half and love it. I've only had to buy a replacement paddle once, which was really cheap.. they just send you a plastic strip, screw, and a small allen wrench. Also, the grip that the controller is coated with wore off a few months ago, so I put squid grip on it, which is working perfectly..I just cut out two small chunks for where the paddles run.
I might get a Scuf for my one, which I bought mostly to play Titanfall with, but after playing the beta I didn't see any major benefits to using a Scuf.. or I moreso still did well without it. I still haven't bought Ghosts for my one yet. If you plan on continuing CoD and getting Titanfall, then I'd definitely get a Scuf for the one.
