I hear a lot of people say that the domed thumbsticks on the PS3 are better for FPS games, and I've heard of a bunch of people changing the 360 controller so it also has domed sticks.

I was wondering what you all thought. Which you prefer, which you think are better?

I'm thinking about getting one of those special controllers with paddles on the back and trigger stops, and you have the option for domed or regular sticks. So I was just wondering what you all think of the subject.

Domed > Concave

I got myself a pair of control freeks and they were concave... had to buy another pair domed.

Some people like the feel of the concave stick, however, the convex ones are absolutely better for precision movements. So the left stick is preference, if you really like concave more, wonderful, but the right stick, I'd say a convex is always worth it because of the sensitivity needed for aiming well.

But, none of this is worthwhile information anyways because the next generation Xbox is coming out holiday season of this year and there almost a 100% chance that controllers won't be compatable. So probably not worth spending $100 on somethign you can only use for 6 months.

I was going to have one of my old controllers modded, it's like $30 on ***.
And I don't usually get next gen consoles when they come out. I will most likely wait a year or longer.

They're actually pretty nice to have, and when I did have them they seemed to help a bit. Definitely regret not getting them on my Scuf controller, because I don't really feel comfortable opening it and replacing them since I'm not sure where the sodder points are for the back paddles.

Lol, my hands sweat like crazy.

But when watching a review, the guy said that the slipping problem is due mainly to the material the sticks are made of. He said the scuff controllers have a grip on them and it makes a noticeable difference.

Sweet.

What about dome vs. concave, what's your opinion?
