i remember when 'prevent monster heal' on an exe sword would make the sword orange.
i remember when poison length reduced used to make the helms pink, like bshell grim help dupe
having dupes such as soul scratch, cheart, scoil, bwing, bmaster, sspurs, gspurs, cvisage, hcasque, carrion, gale exe, wshell, block, bassically ment you where poor, because these where common dupes that you could get for SO cheap, because they where mega duped.
i remember the best sorc vs sorc was a kid named RepIsBad, he was a lvl 88 sorc, dude had +rep life on every item, max warmth, max teleport and could just orb all day long, this was before people used pots in duels, so he used mana regen and rep life.

i remember before LADDER was a different catagory, and the ladder was just the highest level characters.
SwordMaster was the level 99 barb, and it was 8th-ghost who owned that barb
d_Torch was a level 98 sorc at the end of 1.09, tri elemental sorc who wore a mask
i remember a time of BVBing where people didnt use crushing blow. barbs didnt bvb with fucking stupid gtoes boots.. they used hsarus belt/boots, duel stat rings, exe swords, ornate, gfingers.
dza was a level 90 bva that would crush most barbs in bvb, he used 9 min dmg rings with str on em and a 250 str build. had 1k min damage on his ww with an exe sword, and would just dump on everyone
then soon after that, people started doing twitch/sback/poison dmg weapon, gtoes on their bvb barbs, and it was fucking stupid that is what wins now
i remember when everyone did hell cows until lvl 86, because hell cows got you 86 so fast, but as soon as you hit 86, the exp you got from hell cows was nothing.
i made a STATIC/NOVA sorc that wore cvisage and dcara just to clear hell cows for people stupid fast. name was G-ODESS and i got it 87 just in hell cowing for people.
and then most people just stayed level 86, because to get higher level you had to do chaos, and chaos back then was much harder. you didnt have hammerdins and chaos casted an iron maiden spell on your barbs
so when a barb would WW a monster, iron maiden would return the damage delt and barbs would die. barbs would use a low damage weapon so that iron maiden wouldent kill them, or they would pdia their weapon and assasinate
the spell cassterss that casted iron maiden. or barbs just wouldent ww in chaos.

i remember a kid named "SUCKMYDAK" who didnt use duped items, and only used 'legit' items, there was a few kids like this, that just refused to use the duped items and these kids are where my affinity for high ed tusk swords n shit came from, because they
would use items like that, trying to out do the dupe kids, SUCKMYDAK would always use gothic swords n shit, well anyway, SUCKMYDAK was friends with this kid named DJINN and DJINN had mad rare dupes and uncommon dupes and a shitload of them
and SUCKMYDAK robbed DJINN for all his dupes and every item he had. people becoming friends on this game was common, then they would gain access to either a big xfer game or their accounts and STEAL all their items.
my first "METAPHYSICAL" named sorc i got to level 94 manually csing with this kid named Arkyne. we was the fuckin sorc kids on the game at that time, using sandboxi to open 4 diablo 2's and load in 6 players to the game and me and him would just kill chaos
the 2 of us while the other 6 ppl sat in town. it was called 2/8ing. this was probably 1.11 or 1.12 patch i dont remember. we made a joint sorc ArkyneVsMETA. and the concept was we could get higher level if we both played the sorc so the sorc would be
csing twice as much
me and fios-ghost had a shared BARB/DIN combo for duels. the barb/dins names where WINDOWS and INTERNET.

well, me and tony played those chars and shit on so many kids in duel games, but my real life friend named mills would duel on my accouts, using my VViGGLeS blizz sorc and then also would duel with tony, but always pretending to be me
since i wasnt the robbing people type, and was mostly nice and helpful, my friend mills knew people trusted me, and he abused this and ended up robbing tony. i had stopped playing and was removed so i didnt know about this till later.
that kid mills ended up stealing this exact jsp account im using now, i didnt have access to it for 10 years lol, i made a new jsp METABOLICAL, and used that one last time i played d2. he also stole my steam account from me. so you

theiving was rampant on diablo 2. those just the only storys i got off the top of my head. but people used to have websites where you would go to the link and it would make you drop all your items. people would fake being your friend for MONTHS just to steal a storm circlet in a transfer game.

i remember when act 5 got added into classic with redvex, you could go to act 5 and do baal and use the socket quest, thats where all the socketed items on NL came from, this was like 2007/2008 ? maybe 2009 not sure, but people would rush
mad characters just for socket quest just to socket uniques, the fuckin magic grim helms with high def and 40 life, then put that in socket quest and its now 2 socketed. omfg, gangbang shit lol.
