I can tell you I am going through the same with a person very very close to me right now ... A surgery may removes the direct affected regions ... But even followed by a chemo therapy and other measures, there is never a 100% chance for cure as the cancer can spread over the blood and possible affected cells can still react and start to grow... Once diagnosed cancer, even if cured, you have to control yearly and chances of fall-backs are always there ... For a lifetime
