90 FCR is useless when the cut off is 63. You should change your gloves/rings. Why are you not using a grim shield/grim helm/mage plate?

from my understanding, fcr breakpoints where 50/70/90/120. i always found 90 to be best out of them all, 70 wasnt fast enough. however this information is coming from back when the game was commercially relevant, and i have never looked up or researched it. ive always ran 90 fcr on all my sorc always for 20 years and its worked well for me.

the grim/grim/mage answer is a very complex answer. theres alot of reasons why i dont, but the quick answer is.

#1 too much str req. 45 for magefists is max str goal (or 51 if i go splint mail) 58 for grim helm/shield is possible with some good +str gear, having 14 str on each ring and a 20 str belt you can have base life and have enough str to wear them, but if you can save stats and use bonehelm/boneshield for lower str req.
#2 defense on sorc i dont find viable, lots of life + max res is good enough. just dont get hit meele, stay teleporting
#3 aesthetically i think mage looks ugly on sorc (this should be #1)

I think twitch for 75% block would be better than more defense for a sorc, so if that was a concern i would go the twitch route, but tons of life and max res seems to be the best bet

so 200mf is pointless as well if I have 50mf? he does runs in like 4mins dood

No. MF is not calculated the same as FCR. MF does have diminishing returns. Meaning the first 100MF is more effective then the next 100MF.

Here's a good read on MF: https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo2/comments/13u4tqv/how_does_magic_find_actually_work_an_advanced/?rdt=61811

Here is a good read on FCR: https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Faster_Cast_Rate
Here is a handy reference chart:

You should try swapping out Magefist for Bloodfist and see if your sorc is more durable. A good way to test would be to not have BO and see what makes you chicken the fastest. I have found through the different builds that a 58 str requirement is a small price to pay for the added defense bonus. Furthermore, I have found hotspur adds a lot of durability, even over nice boots like you have.

#1. You have 47 strength already. An added 11 strength is 22hp or 44 hp when BO. Isn't that worth the added defense?
#2. Not getting hit? #1 chicken when I am leveling up a new sorc is an infector pack, followed by seis pack. Both triggered by melee. How are you avoiding all hits?
#3. That's fair and probably outweighs the optimization I am recommending

What if you run a full game, and have multiple babas one with max out shout? Wouldn’t that make up for the extra defense? That's what I'm doing and ditched twitch my sorc has more than enough def even with bone shield w/ dodge set to 25 she's perfectly fine.

i like that chicken idea, see what causes more chicken to test durability, and bro youre SO right about hotspurs, i love them, that extra FR really matters and makes a huge difference. and as for not getting hit.
manually play i never get hit, but who manually plays anymore, i set dodge to 100 and spam glacial spike, freezes anyone coming at you and constantly stays away

and you are 100% right about the 44 life isnt worth the extra 600 defense. but im out here trying to shit on this number
