I usually never use a shield, you shouldn't get hit by ww ^^, and you can still stack lots of cr with a staff IMO

because you can not build the correct sorc for it

1st > pvm = bad imo

2nd > you can tank cs w/o a shield... it is called energy shield

and just to brag..... my nl staff is still slightly better but other then my staff, I have only seen 2 others better then this, even if it is huge 8 slots.

energy shield only works on elemental damage therefor a shield is necessary to prevent melee damage
