Edit: Ominous pack says he is taking the deal.

Help me figure out how this is done for FG please.

Note: I don't want just the answer. I want an explanation too.

I will give 15fg for the first person to give a Correct and well explained answer to the question.

There are 4 Questions which is 60fg Total.

1. Solve By Completing the Square: x^2+6x+13=0

2. Solve by Factoring: 3x^2+17x+10=0

3. Solve by any method: -(k+1)^2+7=-43

4. Write the following quadratic equation in vertex form and state the vertex: y=x^2-6x+11

For the solve by factoring question:

You have 3x^2 +17x + 10

The way I worked it out is to start by trying to figure out how to break down the 3x^2, the 3 of course being prime.

Since it is a prime number you can start with (3x+y) (x+z)

now you know you have to have yz = 10, and 3z +y = 17

10 can be broken down into 5 and 2 or 10 and 1 (only whole numbers because of the set up of the equation)

Plugging in the 5 for z and 2 for y, you find your answer:

(3x+2) * (x+5)
