I didn't have anything on the to-do list today and I don't like to sit idle, so I decided I'd update the garage gym a bit!

I got my partner to start working out with me at my place a few days a week. She cancelled her Planet Fitness membership and didn't much care for the plain tan garage walls because, well... they're boring (and I agree).

Thoughts on the color?

The right side of the wall will be a large chalkboard (chalkboard paint) for workout of the day, tracking, and goal setting. I also bought a few cheap 4ft mirrors that I'm going to take the frames off of and mount to the wall behind the squat rack.

Excuse the mess, as it's also currently my tool shed and woodworking area.

More pics to come!

It appears to be very red from the picture, but it's really more of a Blood Orange

Thanks!

At the rate I'm going I figure it'll take two or three days to knock it all out and organize, but hopefully it'll look good once it's all put back together (and clean).

I currently have a full squat rack, adjustable dumbbells, adjustable kettlebell, stationary cycle, treadmill, heavy bag, precision bag, a few sandbags with handles, a set of battle ropes, some resistance bands for mobility work, and a bunch of sparring equipment (that's been collecting dust since my buddy moved out). I figure a few medicine balls and I'll be set for literally anything if the mood strikes.

Done fiddling for the day, and here's the progress pic. Roughly 1/3 of the way done!
Hard to tell from the picture, but yes the mirrors are centered on the rack, and yes the chalkboard is centered between the rack end and the wall... because my brain would scream otherwise, heh.

Thank you, thank you!

Midday progress update, plugging away at cleaning this morning and organizing my shelving units for all of my hardware and tools. Officially 1/2 done, now the hard stuff begins! The front of my garage is way messier than the back half was.

Looks good man, small piece of advice for you though.. Switch the flooring material out for horse stall mats. It looks like soft foam “?”, a plate will put a split right down it and mess your concrete up. And horse stall mats are super dense.

Other wise, great job man. It’s an addiction, get ready to drop some dough.

I had originally looked at horse stall mats just for that reason, and ended up buying the thicker foam squares for grappling and just never swapped them out. :p

Ideally I will eventually replace this side of the garage with mats and get bumper plates, heh.

I think as far as equipment goes I'm pretty well set, although I'm always open to suggestions!

I gotcha bro.

Heavier DBs
More plates, because why not
Deadlift platform
Leg extension/curl setup
Hyper/reverse hyper
More barbells
SSB
More plates
Flat bench
incline bench “it’ll melt your mind when you get a quality bench”
Wall mounted pulley system
Sandbags because nothing asserts dominance like grunting in your front yard while hurling a 200 lb bag of dirt over your shoulder.
Yolk
Keg, both with beer and with sand

Just a small, non exhaustive lisr

I gotcha bro.

Heavier DBs (currently have the bowflex 552's but will eventually upgrade to the 1090's when needed)
More plates, because why not (I don't think I'll ever be able to lift all the weight I already have! :p )
Deadlift platform (curious about this, I'll do some research!)
Leg extension/curl setup
Hyper/reverse hyper
More barbells (I have three in there stashed, heh)
SSB
More plates
Flat bench ( The bench I have is an adjustable flat to 90 degrees)
incline bench “it’ll melt your mind when you get a quality bench”
Wall mounted pulley system
Sandbags because nothing asserts dominance like grunting in your front yard while hurling a 200 lb bag of dirt over your shoulder. (I have several sandbags, the quality material kind with a bunch of handles, they all hold roughly 10-150lbs. depending on which inserts and how much sand added. The partner and I take them too the park, they're awesome!)
Yolk
Keg, both with beer and with sand (That reminds me, I should buy another kegerator! )

Just a small, non exhaustive lisr

Edited your post with currents and goals. Nice list, thank you!

No progress updates today, unfortunately. I had to get some other stuff done around the house and spent a fair portion of the day doing date night, heh.
