So I recently invested in a home gym but my 45s are a smaller diameter than your traditional olympic size 45s and it throws me off a bit when I do the diddlylift. So my question is.. should I buy and replace all my 45s? Or do I only need 1 pair because if it's gonna be bigger, it'll be elevated off the floor to the standard height anyway

measure out exactly how high you'll need the bar and put some plywood or make a platform to put under your weights

Dude yes.. the lowest (biggest diameter) will hit ground first.

i know what you're saying, but not quite sure what the problem is - does it matter which plate hits the floor first? that's like the least important thing i can think of

edit: only thing i can think of that would make this any sort of unbearable is if you only had 2 unidentical 45's making the barbell not parallel with the ground

nah just have something for the weights to land on - so much cheaper right now with the insane prices gym equipment is going for during this time

U big dumb sha bi

His plates are all small. Like the size that 35’s are. Means he is bending down further to pick the bar up vs standard sized plates

aka a deficit deadlift

edit: if it's that big of a problem and/or this is the actual problem, see my post about having something for the weight to land on (also will get them higher off the ground)
