Just close gripped 85kg for a 3x5 today relatively easy, I’m still stalled at 80kg for regular bench, wtf is up

That’s a form issue..

130kg competition bench, and I typically do 103kg for sets with close grip.

I’ll take vids, CGBP used to be like 10-15kg lower, but it just feels so much more comfortable and powerful doing it now, bench is all mega slow reps. I got leg drive down and everything. Maybe my pecs are just mega weak

Even for close grip it would vary person to person. Ask 5 random gym goers to close grip bench and you probably get varied results.

I used to bench semi close grip with elbows tucked quite a bit (when I got 350 actually). By close I mean where the bar is typically smooth and goes rough, about two fingers widths past it

My CGBP my middle finger is right where the smooth and rough meet
Bench I used to put index fingers on the comp rings cuz tall AF, but now I just put my ring fingers on them cuz it feels like I can generate a lot more power, fuck the lower rom

Bench is probably like 90kg for 10
Close grip i would struggle to do 70-80 for 10

Lately my bench if I'm peaking is around 450lbs. I can do 365 for a few reps on close grip.

I have strong triceps, but they're not disproportionately strong compared to my chest. You might have a muscular imbalance or a form issue on bench.
